Join me for a series of evening classes exploring what it means to trust… to trust ourselves, other people, the body, and the universe.
Trust is often spoken about as though it should come naturally, as though we should simply decide to let go, soften, and believe that everything will be all right.
But trust can require enormous courage. And trust is not black and while. All or nothing.
When you have experienced betrayal, abandonment, shame, instability, or fear, the nervous system learns to protect you. You may become watchful, controlling, self-reliant, or unable to settle into uncertainty. You may find yourself anticipating what could go wrong, doubting your own perceptions, or waiting for safety before allowing yourself to move forward.
These responses are not failures, but intelligent adaptations.
However, the very strategies that once protected us can eventually become exhausting. The need to know, predict, manage, and control can leave very little room for intimacy, possibility, creativity, or rest.
Across these six 90-minute sessions, we will explore trust as an embodied experience rather than an abstract idea. Each class begins with a short lecture, followed by breathwork and a yoga series designed to support regulation, presence, and a deeper relationship with yourself.
We will look at the difference between trust and naivety, surrender and collapse, discernment and fear. We will explore what happens in the body when trust has been damaged, and how we can begin to develop the capacity to remain present when the outcome is not yet known.
This is not about persuading yourself that everyone is safe, about abandoning boundaries or handing your power to somebody else. It is about learning to trust yourself enough to listen.
To notice what is happening.
To respond rather than react.
To know that even when life is uncertain, you do not have to abandon yourself.
Yoga and breathwork offer us a direct way into this process. Through movement, breath, effort, and stillness, we can begin to recognise the places where we brace, grip, withdraw, or attempt to control. We can practise staying with sensation, allowing experience to move through us, and discovering that uncertainty does not always have to mean danger.
You do not need any previous experience to join these classes. You simply arrive, exactly as you are, and allow the process to unfold.
Classes are taught live on Zoom and recorded for catch-up via Vimeo, available throughout the series and for four weeks after it ends. You are welcome to join at any point and will receive recordings of any sessions you have missed.
The Wednesday evening community is thoughtful, warm, and deeply engaged… a group of people willing to explore difficult material with honesty and care.
Join me for The Courage to Trust, and begin to discover what becomes possible when trust is rooted not in certainty, but in your relationship with yourself.
