Ritual & Ceremony 24th & 25th October 2026 9.30am – 5.00pm GMT

Hybrid: in person in Battersea, London, or online via Zoom

Join me for two days exploring ritual, ceremony, presence, prayer, purpose and the making of meaning in everyday life.

This is a workshop about the sacred.

Not necessarily religion, though we will speak about religion.

Not necessarily spirituality, though we will absolutely explore what it means to live a spiritual life.

This workshop is about the human need for meaning. It is about how we make contact with something greater than ourselves, how we create beauty and steadiness in the now, and how we learn to hold possibility in our homes, our families, our bodies and our inner lives.

We will explore the difference between transcendence and immanence: the experience of reaching beyond the self, and the experience of finding the sacred right here, in the body, in the room, in the breath, in the ordinary rituals of daily life.

Why does this matter?

Because presence changes everything.

When we are present, something becomes possible. We can listen differently. We can parent differently. We can love differently. We can recover differently. We can begin to feel that life is not simply something to survive, manage, fix or control, but something to be met.

Over these two days we will look at what stops us from being present, what pulls us away from our sense of meaning, and how ritual and ceremony can bring us back.

We will explore the value of affirmation, gratitude and prayer. We will look at malas, mantras, altars, seasonal rituals and the ritualising of the home. We will consider how to create sacred space, how to clear space, why we might use herbs, incense or objects of meaning, and how these practices can support mental health, recovery, family life and a deeper relationship with the self.

This is not about perfection. It is not about being good, pure, holy, calm or spiritual enough.

It is about practice.

It is about repetition.

It is about returning.

It is about making meaning in the now.

Across the weekend there will be lecture, discussion, reflection, movement, breathwork and practical ritual work. We will explore Dharam, Pharam, Karam, and consider the questions that sit beneath so much of our suffering and longing:

Why am I here?
What do I believe in?
What is my purpose?
What do I serve?
How do I take care of my own mental health?
How do I bring possibility into my family, my home and my future?

We will also look at the rituals of the changing seasons: equinoxes, Christmas, spring, endings, beginnings and thresholds. These moments have always mattered. They give shape to time. They help us to mark change, grief, hope, release and renewal.

You do not need to have any previous experience of yoga, breathwork, ritual or spiritual practice. You do not need to know what you believe. You do not need to arrive with certainty.

This course will be delivered in person at 5 The Old Laundry, Battersea, London SW11 1YF, and online via Zoom. We will begin at 9.30am and finish at 5.00pm, with breaks for lunch and tea. All times are GMT.

If there are any simple items to bring or have nearby, these will be shared with you before the workshop. Nothing expensive or elaborate is required.

How these practices can support the mind, body and spirit.

How to make and tend an altar, what might go on it, and why this practice matters.

Mental health and recovery
How ritual and ceremony can support steadiness, care and a deeper relationship with the self.

The rituals of changing seasons
How to work with equinoxes, Christmas, spring, endings, beginnings and thresholds.

Ritual is about creating enough beauty, repetition and meaning that we can stay present to life as it is.

Ceremony gives us a way to mark what matters. Prayer gives us a way to speak to what we cannot control. Gratitude gives us a way to remember what is still here. Presence gives us a way to come back.

Again and again and again.
