A Two-Day Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training with Carolyn Cowan

I have worked with pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period for decades. My background includes work as a pregnancy yoga teacher and trainer, a doula, a psychotherapist, and a teacher of breathwork, yoga and embodied practices. I have taught many women through pregnancy, birth preparation and the earliest days after birth, and I have trained teachers to understand the pregnant body and the emotional landscape of pregnancy with depth, practicality and care.

My work has always been rooted in the mind-body relationship: how stress, fear, trauma, shame, breath, posture and presence are held in the body, and how intelligent practice can help people return to themselves.

This training draws on that long experience.

It is a practical training, but it is not shallow. You will learn what to do with the body, and you will also be invited to think deeply about who you are teaching, what they may be carrying, and how to create a space where pregnant women can feel safe, respected and well held.

A Two-Day Pregnancy Yoga Training

5th & 6th of September 2026, Hybrid – Online and in person in Battersea, London.

Pregnancy is one of the most profound thresholds in a human life. It is a time of enormous physical change, emotional intensity, vulnerability, possibility, fear, hope, uncertainty and transformation.

It is also a time when many women first turn towards yoga, looking for steadiness, relief, breath, connection, community and a way to feel safer in the body.

Pregnant women deserve to be served well.

They deserve teachers who understand the pregnant body. They deserve classes that are safe, intelligent, inclusive and kind. They deserve to be met in the reality of their experience, rather than in a fantasy of what pregnancy “should” be.

This two-day training is for qualified yoga teachers who want to learn how to adapt yoga safely, creatively and confidently for pregnancy.

It is not limited to Kundalini Global teachers, or to teachers of one particular style of yoga.

An altar is a place where you remember. The etymo An altar is a place where you remember.

The etymology of remember is about pulling yourself together. The ‘member’ relates to the members on your body.

When you re-member you pull yourself together, a bit like one of those Victorian dolls where, when you pull the elastic tighter, their arms and legs spring back into place.

What you are remembering, when you create and work with an altar, is the sacred aspect of yourself.

In this way, an activated altar is a ceremonial place but it is also an energetic field where you check in with an keep alive your intentions, goals, projects… whatever it is you’ve made an altar to. You remember them. You keep on track.

It doesn’t have to be in any way religious. It could be purely about nature. It could be an offering, Altars can be an interesting way to move into the space of gratitude.

Gratitude is on my altar.

We have become a culture that dismisses ritual… an We have become a culture that dismisses ritual… and yet humans have always needed it, be that to mark transitions, hold grief, honour joy, to cleanse...
To begin again.

Here I’m cleansing my Mars Gong, but ritual is never really about the object. It is about relationship … to energy, to meaning, to presence, to ourselves.

This October, I’m teaching a two-day Ritual & Ceremony workshop exploring why ritual matters, what it does to the psyche, and how we create meaning in a world that often feels disconnected.

Join me for two days exploring ritual, ceremony, presence, prayer, purpose and the making of meaning in everyday life.

This is a workshop about the sacred.

Not necessarily religion, though we will speak about religion.

Not necessarily spirituality, though we will absolutely explore what it means to live a spiritual life.

This workshop is about the human need for meaning. It is about how we make contact with something greater than ourselves, how we create beauty and steadiness in the now, and how we learn to hold possibility in our homes, our families, our bodies and our inner lives.

We will explore the difference between transcendence and immanence: the experience of reaching beyond the self, and the experience of finding the sacred right here, in the body, in the room, in the breath, in the ordinary rituals of daily life.

Anger is not always loud.

Sometimes it festers.
Sometimes it controls.
Sometimes it turns inward.
Sometimes it quietly shapes the way you think, feel and relate.

Anger and the Addictive Mind begins tonight — a 7-week Wednesday evening series with me, Carolyn Cowan, exploring anger, shame, compulsion, emotional regulation and the deeper patterns of the mind through yoga, breathwork and teaching.

If anger is part of your story, come.

Begins tonight.

If you are carrying anger, frustration, resentment, overwhelm, exhaustion, pressure, anxiety or simply too much emotional noise … come.

Use these classes to move the energy instead of storing it.

These breaths are designed to help shift what has become stuck:
in the nervous system,
in the mind,
in the body,
in your relationships.

You do not need to be “good” at breathwork or to feel calm before we start… you just need to arrive.

And because it’s online, you can fully let go from the privacy of your own home.

Beautiful people, it’s time to let it all out.

Starts tomorrow morning.

It is very easy at the moment to feel angry, overw It is very easy at the moment to feel angry, overwhelmed and strangely impotent in the face of the world.

But there is enormous value in showing up to what you can influence:

your body,
your stress system,
your mind,
your behaviour,
your relationships.

Both new class series begin this week:

The Anger Reset is Monday morning breathwork on Zoom

Anger and the Addictive Mind is Wednesday evening yoga + teaching on Zoom

A space to work consciously with anger rather than simply marinating in it.

It’s time to let it all out, beautiful person… On It’s time to let it all out, beautiful person…

One of the wonderful things about doing anger breathwork from home is that nobody is watching you.

Some of these breaths are strong.
Wild.
A little strange.

Tongues out.
Deep release.
Proper nervous system clearing.

This is good… anger needs movement.

It needs somewhere to go other than into your relationships, your body, your anxiety, your overthinking or your endless internal monologue at 3am.

These Monday morning classes are designed to help you shift held anger, frustration and emotional pressure consciously through the body using breath, by allowing release without collateral damage.

You can come exactly as you are.
Messy.
Grumpy.
Exhausted.
Overwhelmed.

And because you’re at home on Zoom, you have permission to fully let go.

The Anger Reset begins Monday morning

Anger rarely stays perfectly contained.

One person’s irritability.
Another person’s resentment.
The endless grumpiness.
The defensiveness.
The criticism.
The silence.

Brick by brick, a wall starts to build between you and the other.

Eventually you can end up sitting back to back against that wall, unable to reach each other anymore.

Anger is often a festering emotion.

It isn’t always loud.

Sometimes it quietly poisons intimacy and tenderness over time.

Over the next two months I’ll be teaching two class series exploring anger psychologically, emotionally and physically.

The Anger Reset is Monday morning breathwork classes focused on releasing, regulating and shifting anger through the body and nervous system.

Anger and the Addictive Mind is Wednesday evening yoga, breathwork and teaching exploring anger, shame, behavioural patterns, addiction and emotional regulation.

I am not trying to encourage anyone to become passive or pretend everything is fine.

It is about learning how to feel what you feel without destroying yourself or the people around you.

Both series begin next week.

Over the next two months I’ll be teaching two connected class series exploring anger from both a psychological and embodied perspective.

The Anger Reset is Monday morning breathwork classes focused on shifting and regulating anger through the breath and nervous system.

Anger and the Addictive Mind is Wednesday evening yoga, breathwork and teaching exploring anger, compulsion, shame, emotional regulation and behavioural patterns.

This is about becoming conscious enough that your anger no longer runs your life from the shadows.

Anger is very rarely about anger alone. Underneat Anger is very rarely about anger alone.

Underneath anger is often fear. We may have a fear of losing control, or be scared of or in being overwhelmed. Fear of abandonment is so common, as is fear of humiliation, exposure, powerlessness.

When we don’t know how to work with those feelings consciously, anger leaks. Or explodes. Or turns inward.

We weaponise it. Against ourselves. Against the people we love. Against the body. Against the mind.

One of the things I’ll be exploring over the next two months is how to work with anger without causing collateral damage.

Not by suppressing it or by pretending to be “nice”, but by learning how to move it through the body consciously.

The breathwork series The Anger Reset (Monday mornings) will focus on using breath to shift and regulate the nervous system in real time.

The Wednesday evening series Anger and the Addictive Mind will explore the deeper psychology of anger, compulsion, shame and emotional regulation through yoga, breath and teaching.

You can do either series individually, but together they create a very powerful conversation between body, mind and behaviour.

If you are new to me, to yoga, to Kundalini, to ch If you are new to me, to yoga, to Kundalini, to choosing to show up on the mat for yourself, my Tuesday morning class, Kundalini Rising, is a great place to start. 9-10am UK (recorded for catch up) these are banging, one-hour, classes that really show you how you have massive agency in changing how you feel.

All levels of experience welcome. These usually run in blocks of six. This time, we have seven classes as I go off on a summer break in July!

We work hard in the class (though we laugh, experience stillness, do all kinds of things). Afterwards, each of us disperse from the class and move back out into our lives. We do so feeling and behaving differently. Being present.

Remember, beautiful person, your mat is a magical space.

Why not hold that as an intention for yourself as we head into summer?

When we can become still and present we’re capable of incredible transformation.

In Kundalini Global we have a potent equation. It is:

Posture + breath x intention = transformation.

Holding this, practicing on the mat, becoming familiar with, capable of, presence… we have the possibility of realising that we really can affect change. Mass amounts of change at a really grassroots level.

We can turn around in our lives and help a lot of people.

All is beginner friendly. The cost is £50 for seven classes. Just over £7 per clsss. And the recordings included.

Any questions do ask. I would love to see you there. Register via the link in my bio.
